SIKKIM WINDMILL PALM (Trachycarpus latisectus)

The windmill palm with a smooth trunk

Somehow similar to the frequent Chusan Windmill Palm, it is still uncommon in gardening amid its peculiarities that provide great ornamental potential. Unlike the other species of this genus, the Sikkim Windmill Palm has more tropical-looking leaves and naturally sheds and the fibers associated with the leaves’s ligules, leaving a stylized, smooth and soft trunk. Yet, it is less resistant to frost and aridity than other Trachycarpus.
