Watercolor, Giorgio Gallesio (1817)

This original early 19th-century watercolor was replicated by Danielle del Ré in 1832 and has now been restored by Palmer Brothers. This delicate Italian illustration dissects the anatomy of a date plant seedling, showing its first leaves as well as its delicate roots. This piece that we offer you is one of the best-known and most beautiful antique illustrations of palm trees, which stands out for its enormous originality by showing a young plant and also for representing its underground parts.
