“Palmen I” is the first of two stunning black and white lithographs that are part of the famous German encyclopedia Meyers Konversations-Lexikon, (Edition 4, volume 12), published by the Biographisches Institut and edited by Hermann Julius Meyer. This beautiful, educational pictograph includes different parts of the anatomy of five species of palm trees, Borassus flabellifer, Corypha umbraculifera, Mauritia flexuosa, Caryota urens and the sugar palm Arenga pinnata.
