
Habitat: Moist forests and wooded areas, especially in ravines, gorges and alongside streams and waterfalls, on sandstone soils.
Distribution: Endemic to the Blackdown Tableland in central Queensland, Australia.
Description: Single-stemmed, functionally dioecious palm, up to 13 metres tall, with a greyish to brown trunk, greyish-green costapalmate leaves with an extraordinary coppery-brown underside, spiny petioles and small bluish-black fruits.
