BLUE PAUROTIS PALM (Acoelorrhaphe wrightii ‘blue’)

The Cuban silvery palm

West of the Island of Cuba grows the ‘blue’ variety of Paurotis Palm. This little gem is a very exclusive palm for collectors, since it is very difficult to find in nurseries and to see outside its natural distribution range. In its habitat, it could be endangered due to its over-harvesting for the use of its trunks as fence posts.
